Stephanie Garcia has been the Executive Director of The Arc of Pueblo for the past 29 years. The Arc provides advocacy and guardianship services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Pueblo County. The agency serves as legal guardian for 70 individuals. She was a supporter of the establishment of the Office of Public Guardianship and provided testimony to support the legislation that established the Commission. She has served on numerous board and commissions at the local, state and national level including the National Association for Latino Elected Officials (NALEO), The State Board of Human Services and co-chaired Governor Hickenlooper’s transition team. She was twice elected to serve on the Pueblo City School’s Board of Education from 2005-2013. She is the immediate past president for the Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as a Library Board Trustee and is a supreme court appointee to the Colorado attorney regulations citizen’s review jury pool.
