America has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm School of Law and Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder. She started her career with the Public Defender’s Office as a criminal investigator. Since that time, she worked as a judicial assistant in the Denver County Court, as a congressional aid for a U.S. Representative and a paralegal for a prominent Immigration firm. She is fluent in Spanish and has over 16 years of experience in the legal field with expertise in legal analysis, document organization, and legal research.
America has a goal to run a marathon every year. So far, she has completed 11 marathons throughout the United States. She loves dogs and has a Jack Russell Terrier who is her running companion. America is also a pop culture enthusiast of Project Runway.
