Juanita Tidwell is a seasoned guardian committed to protecting the rights, dignity, and autonomy of vulnerable individuals. She has years of experience in guardianship services, client advocacy, and legal support. She has developed a strong foundation in Colorado’s guardianship and probate statutory requirements, as well as a strong commitment to ethical, individualized decision-making.
Prior to joining the Colorado Office of Public Guardianship, Juanita served as Program Manager and Guardian at the Guardianship Alliance of Colorado, where she supported clients through person centered care planning and mentored new professionals in ethical guardianship practices. Her background also includes work in healthcare and legal settings, giving her a unique, well-rounded perspective on the intersection of medical, mental health, legal, and social service needs.
Juanita is dedicated to protecting the rights and well-being of vulnerable individuals while fostering collaborative relationships with families, service providers, and the courts. She is passionate about advancing limited guardianship practices and ensuring that every person under her care is empowered to live as independently as possible.
Her work reflects a dedication to advocacy, ethical guardianship, and the belief that every person deserves to be heard, respected, and supported in their journey.
